Acoustic guitar (self taught @16), Piano (started @ age 7 - had
lessons for 10 years) and also used to play the Clarinet.

How
she was discovered:
Brooke received some
label interest when she was in Year 11 (age 15) but says, at
that time, it wasn't the right thing for her. She decided she
wanted to get her A bursary, and that's what she did. The next
year
when Brooke was in Auckland Scotty the drummer for Elemeno P organized a meeting with
Matty J for her.
Matty J became her manager, shopped
her around the labels and the offers started pouring in. Brooke
had about 5 different labels offering her deals and in late 2002
she ended up signing a multi-album deal with Sony.
Extra
- At 15
Brooke began writing for Christian magazine soul purpose and was
made editor in mid 2002, but unfortunately
gave it up shortly after moving to Auckland (late 2002) to
pursue her music career
- Brooke was a presenter on a
cable TV show when she was 15
- Started
writing songs at age 12
- Brooke never had any vocal
training
- Brooke has been a member of
the World Vision Artist Associates programme since 2002
- Brooke got her tongue pierced
when she was 14 and a second one at 15 but took it out (it was
crooked and it pierced through the web under her tongue)
- Brooke has spoken and
performed at many youth events and Christian churches
- Brooke was also the voice of
tv2 theme "In the neighbourhood'
- Brooke also holds the record at The Edge radio
station, out of all the studio guests, for being the fastest to get all the
shapes into the holes in the SHAPE-O - 13 seconds!
